Data Licensing

An increasing number of funders are requiring that research be made available to other researchers to review, analyze, and build upon. The first step in this process is depositing your data in a data repository where the data is assigned a persistent identifier, can be cited, and can be accessed over time. A license allows another person to use data under certain conditions set by the rights holder. An open license allows your research to be made available to others, which can significantly increase the reach of your research and result in higher citation rates.
