Research IT Participates in ETS Open House

The 2015 Educational Technology Services (ETS) Open House, held August 18th in Dwinelle Hall, offered a pre-semester forum for faculty, instructors, and GSIs to meet organizations that support their teaching and research. The event informed attendees about the resources available to instructors, answer questions related to those services, and provide on-site support consultations. 

Welcoming Jamie Wittenberg

Research IT and the Library welcome Jamie Wittenberg to UC Berkeley and to their joint Research Data Management program team. Jamie recently completed her Master of Science in Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As the  Service Design Analyst in the RDM program, Jamie will play a pivotal role in all aspects of the campus-wide initiative whose goal is to design, develop and deliver a comprehensive suite of services that help researchers manage, protect and share their data.  

RIT presents on new, ongoing initiatives at One IT Summit

On June 9th, Research IT leadership presented on the group’s new and ongoing initiatives at a well-attended session of the One IT Summit. This year’s Summit spanned three days, and included a wide variety of presentations and professional development opportunities for Information Technology staff -- broadly defined -- throughout campus.

Research Data Management kickoff workshop draws large crowd

Seventy people crowded into a meeting room in Doe Library on Monday, May 11th for a Research Data Management (RDM) workshop on "Information, Input and Community." The first in a series of planned workshops was organized by the joint Library/Research IT/California Digital Library RDM service team, and was attended by librarians, information technology support staff, and research service providers.
